A practical browser PDF editor

Use Edit PDF when you need to add information, place a logo or image, highlight content, cover outdated text with whiteout, or draw annotations. The original file is never overwritten.

What this editor supports

  • Add new text at any position.
  • Add PNG or JPG images and logos.
  • Highlight or whiteout selected areas.
  • Draw freehand notes and marks.
  • Export a new edited PDF after reviewing the changes.

Existing PDF text

PDFs are not structured like Word documents. This editor can place new text and cover old content, but it does not promise direct editing of every existing embedded text object, especially in scans, outlined fonts, signed PDFs or complex generated documents.

A safe way to work with existing content

The editor adds new objects on top of PDF pages. Whiteout is a visual cover, not true deletion of the underlying PDF text or data. If information must be permanently redacted for legal, privacy, or compliance reasons, use a dedicated redaction workflow that removes the underlying content rather than relying on a white rectangle.

What to check before export

  • Zoom in on text placement and image edges.
  • Review every page where whiteout or highlights were added.
  • Confirm new text does not cover form fields, signatures, or important labels.
  • Open the exported PDF again before sharing it to make sure the final result matches the editor preview.

Visual editing is different from rewriting the PDF structure

Many PDFs do not store paragraphs the way a word processor does. Text can be split into separate drawing commands, outlined as shapes, or embedded inside a scan. This editor therefore focuses on adding visible objects and annotations rather than promising universal direct editing of every existing text object.

Use whiteout only when the goal is visual presentation. Covering text with a white rectangle does not guarantee that the underlying content has been removed from the file. For confidential or legally sensitive information, use a true redaction workflow designed to delete the underlying data and verify the result with an appropriate tool.

Review placement on every affected page

New text and images should be checked at more than one zoom level. Look for clipped letters, content that overlaps form fields, images that cross page boundaries, and marks that hide signatures or required labels. Keep the original document so you can restart from a clean copy if the layout needs correction.

When a source document is available, edit that first

If you still have the original Word, PowerPoint, design, or form file, making the change there usually produces a cleaner long-term result than layering corrections onto the PDF. PDF editing is most useful when the source is unavailable or when the change is deliberately limited to a visible annotation, added label, image, highlight, or note.

For repeated business documents, keep a corrected source template so future PDFs do not need the same manual patch each time.

Keep a clean source copy

Save the edited PDF as a new file and keep the original until the recipient has accepted the result. A clean source makes it easier to correct placement mistakes, compare versions, or create a different edit later without stacking multiple rounds of visual changes on top of one another.
