Before you process

Keep the original document.

PDFora creates new output files rather than acting as permanent cloud storage. Keep your original locally, review every result, and use the downloaded copy only after confirming its pages and visual quality are correct.

File privacy

Local by design.

Selected files are handled locally in your browser. The processed result is created on your device, and document contents are not sent to PDFora servers or used as permanent document storage.

Choose a tool by the outcome you need

PDF tasks fall into different categories, and choosing the right operation first can save unnecessary conversions. Use organization tools when the pages are already correct but need a new order or grouping. Use conversion tools when another format is genuinely required. Use editing tools for visible additions and annotations. Use security tools for authorized password workflows, and use OCR when the main problem is that a scanned page does not contain searchable text.

Avoid converting a document several times just to accomplish a page operation. Every extra conversion can introduce layout changes, image recompression, or loss of interactive features. Keep the original and use the most direct tool for the task.

Review important outputs

Browser tools are practical for everyday work, but file formats can be complex. After processing, open the result and inspect the pages that matter most. Check page order, text, small images, numbers, signatures, orientation, and security settings. If exact legal, archival, accessibility, or print-production requirements apply, use the specialist workflow required by that process.

For help choosing between tools, read the FAQ or browse the PDF Guides.

Keep the workflow as short as possible

The safest routine is usually: keep the original, choose the one operation that solves the immediate problem, export a new copy, and review it. Short workflows reduce unnecessary quality loss and make it easier to understand which step caused a change.
