What is rotate pdf?

PDF rotation changes the viewing orientation of pages without turning them into screenshots or image files. You can rotate the whole document or target specific page numbers and ranges.

How to use Rotate PDF

  1. 1

    Upload the PDF.

  2. 2

    Choose 90°, 180°, or 270° rotation.

  3. 3

Leave Pages blank for the whole document, or enter a list such as 1,3-5.

  4. 4

Process and download the corrected PDF.

Why use this tool?

Scanners, mobile camera workflows, and mixed-source documents can leave some pages sideways or upside down. Correct orientation makes a PDF easier to read, print, present, and submit.

How PDFora works

After you choose the PDF and rotation settings, the page transformation is completed in the browser and the rotated copy is prepared for download on your device. Document contents are not sent to PDFora servers.

Common ways to use Rotate PDF

  • Fix sideways scanned pages
  • Correct a single upside-down page in a report
  • Normalize mixed portrait and landscape scans
  • Prepare a document for easier printing or review

Tips for better results

  • Use 90° for a quarter-turn clockwise and 270° for the opposite direction.
  • For mixed documents, enter only the pages that need correction.
  • Page ranges accept formats such as 1,3-5,8.
  • Review the downloaded file before deleting your original scan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate only certain pages?

Yes. Enter individual page numbers or ranges such as 1,3-5.

Does rotation reduce quality?

No page rasterization is required for the rotation operation.

What happens if I leave the page field empty?

PDFora rotates every page in the document.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Not in this version. Protected PDFs are rejected without asking for a password.

Rotation changes viewing orientation, not the photographed content

Page rotation tells a PDF reader how the page should be displayed. It is useful for sideways scans, landscape forms, or pages captured with the device turned the wrong way. It does not re-scan text, straighten a crooked photograph, remove a dark border, or deskew a page that was photographed at an angle.

Mixed-orientation documents are normal. Rotate only the pages that need correction rather than forcing every page into portrait or landscape. After export, check pages with tables, forms, and handwritten notes because those are the places where an incorrect 90-degree turn is easiest to notice.

Printing after rotation

A PDF viewer may automatically fit rotated pages to the selected paper size, but printer settings can still affect the result. If physical printing matters, preview the document with the actual printer settings and confirm scaling, orientation, and margins before printing a large batch.
